How to Apply Eyeshadow to Make It Last All Day

If you have taken the time to apply eyeshadow in the morning and by the time that you look in the mirror at lunch time the color is gone, you are not alone. More and more women are complaining that the beautiful colors that they apply just disappear before their day is through.

The good news is that you do not have to worry about this happening to you any more. You can easily apply eyeshadow to make it last all day. It is quite simple to do and can be used for any look that you are trying to achieve.

Step One

The first part of being able to apply eyeshadow to make it last all day is having the right products. You need a quality eye makeup that is going to give you the color that you want. The better the quality of the cosmetics that you are using, the more pigment that is in the powder. This helps to make your look last through out your day.

Step Two

Start out with a clean eye area. You can use eye makeup remover to remove any dirt, oil, or leftover cosmetics. You want your beauty products to sit as close to your skin as possible to help them to stay longer.

Step Three

Apply a cream based concealer about a half shade lighter then the rest of your skin tone to your eye lid. Think of this as foundation makeup but for your eyes. This gives you a neutral canvas on which to apply eyeshadow. The concealer also gives the powder something to hold onto to help it to last all day.

Step Four

Apply eyeshadow in any color and design that you want. This is where you can be creative. You can go with a very soft natural look. Going trendy with smoky eyes or something a bit more bold is always an option as well. The key here is to use the right tools to get the job done. A quality set of makeup brushes with a couple of eyeshadow ones is going to make this super easy to do.

Step Five

Depending on the colors that you choose to go with when you were about to apply eyeshadow, you need to determine how to set your look in place. You will need a large powder brush and either translucent powder or your blush. Using your blush to gentle sweep over your eye lids can set your look in place and create a very soft natural look. If this is not going to work for the look that you just created, you can always use translucent powder.
