When to Toss Bad Foundation Makeup

You might not see an expiration date on your foundation makeup, but it does go bad just like the milk in your fridge. The good news is that it is not as fast as food when it comes to being perishable. You will however want to make sure that you do not use any type of makeup product that has gone bad on your skin.

Doing so can cause breakouts and skin irritations. The normal use up rate of foundation makeup should more then cover the time frame that this product will usually go bad. However, if you do not wear makeup every day there is a chance that you will need to change yours before the bottle is done. So lets take a look at how you will know that you have bad foundation makeup.

Number One

If the liquid or powder has a smell that it did not have, this is a sign that there has been a chemical change to the formula. The product might look the same and even cover your skin just like it used to, but there is something different about it that could cause damage to your skin.

Number Two

Liquid foundation makeup can separate in the bottle. A layer of oil can separate from the rest of the liquid and this is a sign that it is time to throw this bottle out.

Number Three

Many times these signals will start to show up in your favorite beauty product early on in the going bad process. However, there is a time frame that you should follow when it comes to this makeup tip. If you have had your base longer then 12 months, you need to throw it out. You are not saving yourself money by trying to hold onto this item longer then you should. It will just cause you to spend more money in skin care to take care of the breakouts.
